PrideStar Trinity EMS is proud to announce that its Communications Center has once again earned designation as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED), reaffirming its commitment to providing the highest level of emergency medical dispatch services to the communities it serves.

Originally achieving ACE Accreditation in 2017, PrideStar Trinity EMS became the first Emergency Medical Dispatch Center in Massachusetts to receive the prestigious designation. Today, PrideStar Trinity remains one of only two accredited Centers of Excellence in the Commonwealth and joins an elite group of just 300 accredited communications centers worldwide.

ACE Accreditation is considered the gold standard in emergency medical dispatch. The rigorous accreditation process evaluates every aspect of a communications center, including quality assurance, dispatcher training and certification, medical protocol compliance, continuous performance improvement, technology, leadership, and overall commitment to excellence in patient care.

The PrideStar Trinity EMS Communications Center operates around the clock, coordinating emergency and non-emergency medical transportation throughout northeastern Massachusetts. During the past year alone, Communications Center personnel provided Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) for more than 6,000 emergency calls, delivering medically approved pre-arrival instructions that included CPR, childbirth assistance, bleeding control, overdose intervention (to name a few) while emergency responders are en-route.

Every Emergency Medical Dispatcher at PrideStar Trinity EMS is certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatcher through IAED and utilizes internationally recognized Medical Priority Dispatch protocols. Supported by advanced technologies including ProQA, ZOLL RescueNet CAD, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), GPS fleet tracking, and FirstWatch performance monitoring, the Communications Center continuously works to ensure the closest and most appropriate ambulance resources are dispatched to every emergency.

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch’s Accredited Center of Excellence program recognizes communications centers that consistently demonstrate exceptional performance in emergency dispatch operations. Accredited centers undergo comprehensive evaluations and must continually demonstrate compliance with internationally recognized best practices and medical dispatch standards.
