Knights of Columbus Honor Raul as EMT of the Year
Over the weekend, Raul was awarded with the EMT of the Year Award from the Greater Haverhill Knights of Columbus Chapter.
One of his fellow employees nominated Raul for the award. Here is just a few of the kind words he said about him:
“I have worked together with Raul since 2007, and he has always maintained a high level of compassion for the patients he cares for. On several occasions I observed him providing above and beyond level of care for his patients and their families…. Luis will not hesitate to stop and lend a hand, even when he is “off-duty”. Last spring he did that very thing while on his way to work. He stopped at a horrific accident and began to render medical aid as well as calling into dispatch and providing an update about the patient even before the ambulance arrived…. Raul is also an FTO and carries the same caring spirit with him and often takes time to show new employees various skills, helping them practice or study and often working with them until the employee is comfortable at the particular skill they were working on. Above all else, Raul values his family, which he lights up when he talks about them and the fun things they do together….. Raul has such a strong spirit of compassion for his fellow man and we are all lucky to know him.”
