UMass Lowell PD received a call for a wellness check for a male student. During that time, the call was further updated to a significant concern for the student harming himself.

The crew of Brandon and James were responding to the scene after officers determined the student was suicidal and had located a knife in his possession. As the ambulance arrived the student became distressed and was actively trying to pull away from officers. Within seconds, Brandon and James exited the vehicle and quickly approached the fleeing student. The crew’s approach caused the student to pause long enough for the officers to gain control.

“As with all my prior contacts with your staff, both Brandon and James acted immediately and professionally. Both employees showed amazing care and compassion for our distressed student. Once in the ambulance, Brandon and James were able to calm the student. I/We truly appreciate the work Bandon and James did that night to help ensure the student’s safety.”
