The VFW Lorraine Post 29 hosted their annual First Responder Banquet on May 23, 2019 at the DiBurro’s Function Hall in Haverhill, MA
The VFW honored many First Responders that evening and among them was Brian Silva, Emergency Medical Technician and Field Trainer for Trinity EMS. He was recognized for his compassion for his patients and fellow co-workers as well as his knowledge and skills in the field.
Brian Silva has been an Emergency Medical Technician with Trinity EMS since 2016 working primarily in the City of Haverhill. Brian’s knowledge and skills as well as his compassion shown toward each patient he cares for was evident early-on. Early in 2018 Brian accepted the role of “Preceptor.” As a Preceptor, Brian provides new employees with training, feedback, and ensures our patients continue to receive the excellent care they have come to expect. After a few assignments in this role, it became clear that Brian goes above and beyond with each new employee he encounters, becoming a mentor and a resource for these employees throughout their career at Trinity EMS. One of Brian’s trainee’s took the time to reach out to our leadership team, stating:
“Brian made me feel incredibly comfortable and was extremely welcoming… As someone who was nervous about starting, his words of encouragement was something I really needed and made me feel more confident in my own knowledge and skills,” said by one of his trainees.
Comments like these have become commonplace since Brian has joined our team as a Preceptor, continually demonstrating his abilities and dedication to his role and the employees he trains. Brian has quickly become an integral part of our team, and he has proven to be a role model for others to follow. Congratulations Brian.
